CWC 2019: Kevin Pietersen compares England with the invincible Aussie side; Twitter disagrees

Twitter joked about the English team after KP's tweet for them.

England is scaring the other competitors of World Cup 2019 ahead of the tournament. They look invincible not only on paper but on the field as well. In the ongoing series against Pakistan, England has won both the matches with one of the three matches being washed out because of rain.

In the last game, England chased down the target of 359 at Bristol. What left everyone stunned is they chased the huge target in just 44.5 overs.

There was no real fuss for the home side when they came out to bat. The opener Jonny Bairstow remained top scorer for them with 128 runs. Jason Roy was the second highest contributor with 76 runs.

Interestingly, none other batsman scored a half-century, but there were contributions of 43 from Joe Root, 37 from Ben Stokes, 46* from Moeen Ali and 14* from skipper Eoin Morgan who came out to bat at number 6.

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen compared the current English side with the one Ricky Ponting led to a couple of World Cup titles in 2003 and 2007.

"This England ODI side is like that great Aussie side...if Hayden didn’t get you, then Ponting would & if they missed out, Gilchrist would. This England team, the same, Roy, Bairstow, Buttler, etc... SOOOOO good! ????," his tweet read.

He was trolled for his comment on Twitter. Twitterati doesn't think the comparison is fair. Here is the reaction from fans:
