The second T20I of the India-South Africa 3-match series went underway at Mohali, after the disappointing wash out of the first match at Dharamsala.

Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bowl first. South Africa gave T20I debuts to Temba Bavuma, Bjorn Fortuin, and Anrich Nortje. Reeza Hendricks was dismissed early by Chahar for 6 runs, but skipper Quinton de Kock brought all of his IPL experience into this match and greeted Navdeep Saini with three consecutive fours in his opening over.

He reached his 50 with 8 fours and was on 52, when he tried to force delivery from Saini straight back over his head, but caught the top edge of the bat. The ball lobbed towards the 30-yard circle where Kohli running from mid-off dived in order to catch the ball in his left hand, to come up with an all-time great catch.
