IND v SL 2017: Watch- MS Dhoni’s brilliant tumbling take to get rid of Thisara Perera

India defeated Sri Lanka by 141 runs, thanks to 208* from Rohit Sharma

MS Dhoni's brilliant diving catch to dismiss Thisara Perera

India demolished Sri Lanka in the 2nd ODI at Mohali by 141 runs, thanks to skipper Rohit Sharma’s record shattering third ODI double hundred (208*). Shreyas Iyer’s 88 and Shikhar Dhawan’s 68 helped Rohit take India to 392/4. Sri Lanka was never in the game and despite a fighting century by Angelo Mathews, Lanka ended their 50 overs at 251/8.

Apart from the obviously brutal innings of Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni captured the eyes of the crowd before and during the match. Before the match, MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya ran an impromptu 100m dash and the 36 year old Dhoni edged out the 24 year old Hardik Pandya to the cheers of crowd present to see the pre match proceedings.

During the 31st over of the Sri Lanka batting innings, Yuzvendra Chahal floated one on the legs of Lankan skipper Thisara Perera, who tried to swipe it. The ball hit the pads and kissed the gloves on its way up. Dhoni went after the ball and took a good tumbling catch on the practice wickets.

Dhoni did hurt his elbow while diving, but his catch was applauded by his teammates and crowd as well.
