England team clinches T20I series against Indian women 3-0 with a thrilling 1-run win

Danielle Wyatt top scored with 123 runs in T20I series.

Smriti Mandhana scored 58 in the 3rd T20I

After losing the first two T20I matches against England women in Guwahati, Smriti Mandhana led Indian women prepared themselves to give a good fight in the third and final T20I match.

England captain Heather Knight won the toss and chose to bat first. Tammy Beaumont (29) and Dannie Wyatt (24) added 51 in 7 overs at the start. Then Heather Knight made 26 and with contributions from Sophia Dunkley and others took the England team to 119/6. The total was below par, but the previous matches had shown that chasing a target is a bit difficult on this pitch. For India, Anuja Patil (2/13) and Harleen Deol (2/13) were the picks of bowlers.

India’s chase started off badly with Deol falling for 1 and Rodrigues falling for 11. But once again, Mandhana made 58 in 39 balls with 8 fours and 1 six. Then Mithali Raj made 30* in 32 balls with 4 fours.

The match went down to the last over, with 3 runs required off it. Kate Cross bowled a remarkable six balls, picked up two wickets and gave away just one run to win the match.

England sealed the three-match T20I series 3-0 and avenged their ODI series loss.
