Harmanpreet Kaur stars as India Women clinches series 4-0 by winning the 5th T20I vs. Sri Lanka women

Poonam Yadav picked three wickets | TwitterIndia women completed a 4-0 drubbing of Sri Lanka women in their own backyard by winning the 5th and final T20I by 51 runs at the FTZ Sports Complex (BOI), Katunayake, Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Women won the toss and chose to field first. India women put on 156 in 18.3 overs with Harmanpreet Kaur top scoring with 63 in 38 balls with 5 sixes and 3 fours and Jemimah Rodrigues making 46 off 31 balls with 6 fours and 1 six. The duo added 75 runs for the 3rd wicket and was the main scorers for the Indian women’s team. Apart from them, Mithali Raj made 12 and was the only other batswoman to reach double figures.

Shashikala Siriwardene (3/19) and Inoshi Fernando (3/24) were the main picks of Sri Lankan bowlers.

In the chase, Sri Lanka kept losing wickets at regular intervals. MA Sanjeewani made 29, while Siriwardene and Ranasinghe scored 22 runs apiece. Poonam Yadav with 3/18 and Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav with two wickets each kept the scoring late low and Sri Lanka women were bowled out for 105 in 17.4 overs, giving India Women a win by 51 runs.

India women won the 5-match T20I series 4-0. Before winning the T20I series, India had won the three-match ODI series 2-1.
