Anuja Patil's all-round show gives India Women 3-0 lead against SL women with a 7 wicket win

Anuja Patil starred with 3/36 and 54* for India.

Jemimah Rodrigues thumped yet another fifty (52*) and added 96* with Anuja Patil to take India home | APIndian women achieved the unassailable lead of 3-0 in the five matches T20I series against Sri Lanka women by defeating the hosts by 7 wickets in the third T20I at the Colombo Cricket Club Ground.

Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to chase. Sri Lanka got a good start courtesy of skipper AC Jayangani’s 31. But Anuja Patil picked 3/36 in her four overs to jolt the Lankan innings. Shashikala Siriwardene hit 40 in 32 balls to take Sri Lanka women to 134/5 in 20 overs.

Mithali Raj (11), Smriti Mandhana (5) and Taniya Bhatia (5) didn’t last long as Oshadi Ranasinghe removed them in quick succession, but Jemimah Rodrigues (52* in 37 balls; 5 fours and 2 sixes) and Anuja Patil (54* in 42 balls; 7 fours) added 96* runs for the fourth wicket, to take India home comfortably with 7 wickets in hand. Anuja Patil was the star for Indian team with her all-around performance.

With this win, India also won the series with a lead of 3-0 with two matches to go.
