India A clashed with West Indies A in the 6th and final league match of the A teams tri-series in England.

India A captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first. In a new opening combination, India A saw Shaw opening with Rishabh Pant. However, Pant got out for 5 when Holder had him caught by O Thomas. Shreyas Iyer followed for a duck and India A was left 28/2.

However, then came a big 160 runs partnership between the two centurions of the match in Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari took the game away from the WI-A. Shaw slammed 102 in 90 balls with 16 fours and Vihari carried on making 147 in 131 balls with 13 fours and 5 sixes.

Hooda (21), Vijay Shankar (28) and Ishan Kishan (21) provided last overs impetus to the India A innings and took the team to 354/6 in 50 overs. Chemar Holder was the pick of WI-A bowlers with 3/70 in 10 overs.

West Indies A knew that they had to go from the start chasing 354, but started off by losing Jermaine Blackwood first ball of their innings to Deepak Chahar. Chahar also removed McCarthy for 17 and Shankar took care of Hemraj for 43. Captain Devon Thomas ran himself out for 1 and Sunil Ambris and Raymon Reifer tried to rebuild the innings.

But Akshar Patel removed Ambris for 32 and Reifer got out for 26 off Gowtham. Hooda removed the last hope of WI-A, Rahkeem Cornwall and ended the WI-A hopes of a chase.

Akshar Patel (4/34) was the pick of the Indian bowlers along with Deepak Chahar (2/21). West Indies A was bowled out for 151 runs and lost the match by 203 runs.

India will now face England Lions in the finals of the tri-series on July 2 at the Lord's ground.
