Team India will tour England for a full series of 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 5 Test matches commencing in June 2018. The tour of England will start with the 3 T20I matches and will be followed by 3 ODIs and then 5 Tests.

Team India will want to repeat their performance of last time when India won the 5 match ODI series 3-1. The Indian team will look to keep their dominance on the ODI format where they have been winning most of their ODI series in the last one year. They defeated South Africa 5-1 in their own den in the six-match ODI series. They had whitewashed Sri Lanka in their own den previously and then defeated them 2-1 when they visited India during the return tour.

The usual opening combination of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma will be responsible for giving Team India quick starts at the top. Rohit scored his third double hundred in ODIs against Sri Lanka recently and his form will be crucial for India, despite his recent failures on the tour of South Africa. Ajinkya Rahane and KL Rahul will serve as reserve openers and one of them will be entrusted to play at no.4 in the batting lineup.

Virat Kohli will helm his place at no.3 in ODIs, with Manish Pandey, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni forming the middle order. The spin twins Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav will get to test out their guile and skills on English pitches and Krunal Pandya might be rewarded for his IPL exploits with a place in the squad as the third spinner/all-rounder.

The fast bowling duties will be shouldered by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami. All of these fast bowlers have played in England previously and Bhuvneshwar and Shami were the best bowlers on the last tour to England in 2014. Bumrah, who impressed in South Africa, will have a chance to do so in England as well, where he did well during the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
