The table toppers Chennai Super Kings hosted the bottom of the table Mumbai Indians in the 27th match of IPL 2018 at the MCA Stadium, Pune on Saturday (April 28).

After winning the toss, Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first and all-rounder Krunal Pandya soon proved his captain right by dismissing the swashbuckling Shane Watson for just 12. However, Watson’s opening partner Ambati Rayudu carried on his good run of form and scored a delightful 46 off 35 balls.

After Rayudu’s dismissal, Suresh Raina took the charge and recorded his second fifty (75* off 47 balls) of IPL 2018. The southpaw shared a valuable 71-run stand for the second wicket with Rayudu and followed it with a 46-run partnership with skipper MS Dhoni for the third wicket. Raina’s unbeaten knock eventually took CSK to 169/5 in 20 overs.

Mitchell McClenaghan was the pick of the bowlers for MI as the left-arm pacer scalped 2 wickets by conceding only 26 runs. Left arm spinner Krunal Pandya also dented CSK by claiming 2 wickets for just 32 runs in his 4 overs.
