The third W-ODI between Australia women and India women was played at Vadodara on March 18, 2018. The three match ODI series was already won by Australia women, as they had a lead of 2-0 coming into this match and they had just one thing on their mind, whitewashing the Indian women team on their mind.

Australia did just that, as they crushed India in the final match as well to win the series 3-0.

Australia women’s captain Meg Lanning won the toss and elected to bat first. The star of the first two matches Nicole Bolton was dismissed for 11 by Ekta Bisht and Meg Lanning perished for 18, dismissed by Poonam Yadav.

However, Alyssa Healy hit a sublime century to put Australia onto the path of a big total. She hit 133 off 115 balls with 17 fours and 2 sixes. She was supported well by Ellyse Perry (32), Rachel Haynes (43), Beth Mooney (34* in 19 balls) and Ashleigh Gardner (35).

Australia women put up 332/7 on board in 50 overs.

Harmanpreet Kaur picked up 2/51 off 5.3 overs, while Shikha Pandey, Deepti Sharma, Ekta Bisht and Poonam Yadav picked a wicket each.

Indian reply started off brilliantly as openers Smriti Mandhana (52 off 42 balls with 10 fours) and Jemimah Rodrigues (42) put on 101 runs in just 13 overs. However, Ashleigh Gardner removed both of them in consecutive balls.

Mithali Raj followed after scoring 21 and Harmanpreet got out for 25 runs. India women kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were unable to keep up with the required run rate. Sushma Verma hit 30 to try and force things, but Australia bowling proved too much for the Indian batswomen.

Australia demolished India by 97 runs and whitewashed the home team 3-0.
