Results summary of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018.

Indian domestic cricket’s premier One-Day competition, the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 went underway on 5th February with all the domestic teams participating for the crown of One-Day champions. The teams are divided into four groups and top two teams from each of the groups will qualify for the QFs.

Here is the summary of matches on 16th Feb:

HARYANA V ODISHA

Deepak Behera - Odisha

SD Dhull’s 72 and HV Patel’s 50 were the highest scores in Haryana’s disappointing total of 170 against Odisha. Deepak Behera took 6/22 and Jayanta Behera 2/26 for Odisha. The chase proved to be a easy one, as Anurag Sarangi hit 84* in 89 balls with 7 fours and 5 sixes and Shantanu Mishra hitting 53* with 7 fours. Odisha won the match by 9 wickets.

HAR 170 lost ODI 172/1 by 9 wkts


BARODA V ASSAM

Aditya Waghmode hit 148 in 128 balls with 17 fours and 4 sixes and Kedar Devdhar hit 61 with 8 fours for Baroda. Deepak Hooda (41) and Swapnil Singh (36) too contributed to Baroda’s total of 378/7 against Assam. Riyan Parag proved to be the best bowler for Assam with 2/35.

Aditya Waghmode - Baroda

Lukman Meriwala (2/24), Deepak Hooda (2/13) and Swapnil Singh (2/0) routed Assam for just 99 runs. Parviz Aziz scored 50 and Romario Sharma hit 22 and were the only batsmen to reach double figures, as Assam suffered a heavy defeat by 279 runs.

KARNATAKA V RAILWAYS

Mayank Agarwal - Karnataka

Karnataka batted first and scored 257 runs against Railways. Mayank Agarwal‘s 85 with 15 fours and Pavan Deshpande hit 65 with 9 fours and 2 six for Karnataka. Anureet Singh picked 3/36 and Amit Mishra took 3/45 for Railways.

In reply, Railways lost both their openers for duck and middle order too collapsed, before Ankit Yadav (51) and Anureet Singh (59 with 5 sixes and 3 fours) added 91 runs for the 7th wickets to pull Railways back into the match. However, despite the best efforts by Avinash Yadav who scored 40 and Amit Mishra who scored 28; Railways could only manage 241 and fell short by 16 runs.

M Prasidh picked 4/35 and T Pradeep picked 4/48 for Karnataka.
