Results summary of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018.

Indian domestic cricket’s premier One-Day competition, the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 went underway on 5th February with all the domestic teams participating for the crown of One-Day champions. The teams are divided into four groups and top two teams from each of the groups will qualify for the QFs.

Here is the summary of matches on 14th Feb:

HYDERABAD V CHHATTISGARH

Mohd Siraj - Hyderabad

Hyderabad batted first and scored 280/8 with B Sandeep scoring 79 and Ambati Rayudu making 46. Pankaj Rao picked 3/52. Mohd Siraj picked 5/37 for Hyderabad as CG collapsed for 196 with Aditya Khare making 71 and Sanjeet Desai making 47. Hyderabad won the match by 84 runs.

JHARKHAND V J&K

Virat Singh - Jharkhand

Virat Singh hit 96 with 11 fours and Sumit Kumar made 35 to take Jharkhand to 296/9 against J&K. Umar Nazir (3/71) and Parvez Rasool (3/46) were the pick of J&K bowlers. Shubham Pundir hit 74 in 74 balls with 8 fours and 1 six, but got support from other J&K batsmen, as J&K collapsed for 199. Vikash took 3/37 and Ashish Kumar took 3/23, as Jharkhand won by 97 runs.

VIDARBHA V SAURASHTRA

JM Sharma’s 55 and SR Ramaswamy’s 29 were the biggest contributions to Vidarbha’s total of 159. Jaydev Unadkat picked 2/18 and Kr Makwana picked 2/9 for Saurashtra. In reply, Saurashtra chased down the target with 8 wickets in hand. A Barot hit 91* with 13 fours and 2 sixes and Chesteshwar Pujara hit 46* to ensure Saurashtra won the match.

MUMBAI V ANDHRA

Hanuma Vihari

KS Bharat’s 105 with 10 fours and Hanuma Vihari’s 169 with 16 fours and 7 sixes were the foundation for Andhra’s 344/5. Roystan Dias picked 3/77 for Mumbai. Mumbai’s reply for shouldered by Siddhesh Lad’s 118 with 6 fours and 4 sixes and 36 from Shivam Dube and 31 from Prithvi Shaw. But IK Raman’s 3/55 kept Mumbai 29 runs short of the target, at 315/9.

MUM 315/9 lost to AND 344/5 by 29 runs


GUJARAT V GOA

BH Merai’s 93 with 9 fours and 1 six was the highest score for Gujarat in their total of 227. Darshan Misal took 3/36 for Goa. Sagun Kamat hit 110* with 14 fours and 1 six, as Goa won the match by 1 wicket, despite Piyush Chawla picking 3/27 and Kathan Patel picking 3/42.

TAMIL NADU V RAJASTHAN

Rajasthan folded for 141 with CD Bist top scoring with 36. R Sai Kishore picked 5/26 and J Kousik picked 2/12.TN chased down the total with 7 wickets in hand, as Baba Aparajith scoring 55* with 9 fours and N Jagadeeshan making 39.

BARODA V ODISHA

Krunal Pandya hit 84, Deepak Hooda hit 52 and Swapnil Singh hit 56 to take Baroda to 317/6. In reply, Odisha’s chase was limited to 260 runs with Biplab Samantray making 74 and Prayas Singh making 51. A Sheth took 2/19 and L Meriwala picked 2/31.

ASSAM V HARYANA

SG Rohilla (74), Rajat Paliwal (76) and JJ Yadav (55) took Haryana to 323/9, despite Mrinmoy Dutta picking 5/67. Assam’s chase folded for 237/6 with Romario Sharma hitting 97* with 9 sixes and 2 fours, as HV Patel’s 3/51 won the match for Haryana.

RAILWAYS V PUNJAB

Manan Vohra

Manan Vohra’s 143 with 13 fours and 2 sixes and Yuvraj Singh’s 35 was the cornerstones for Punjab’s 280/8, as Railways’ Avinash Yadav and Anureet Singh took two wickets each. Railways’ chase went down to last over, but Arindham Ghosh’s 89*, Mahes Rawat’s 56 and Ankit Yadav’s 55 off 30 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes, won the match by 4 wickets in hand.
