The league stage of the Indian domestic cricket’s premier T20 tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali has come to an end today. The tournament was brought forward in order to showcase the domestic talent for the upcoming IPL 2018 auctions.

The knockout stages begin from 21st January onwards.

 

Here is the summary of January 16 matches results:

CHHATTISGARH 113/8 lost to UTTAR PRADESH 114/4 by 6 wkts

AN Khare hit 33 and Shivendra Singh hit 27* to take CG to 113/8 in 20 overs against UP. Saurabh Kumar took 2/16, while Ankit Rajpoot and Amit Mishra took 2 wickets each. SJ Ahmed (2/29) put UP in trouble when he removed Shivam Chaudhary (15) and Suresh Raina (13) early. But Akshdeep Nath scored 43* in 29 balls and Rinku Singh hit 33 off 20 balls to take UP to 6 wicket win.


JHARKHAND 129/2 defeated ODISHA 123 by 8 wkts

Govinda Poddar’s 64 in 42 balls (5 fours and 4 sixes) was the highest score in Odisha’s 123. Monu Kumar took 4/14 and Atul Sarwar took 2/27 for Jharkhand. Ishan Kishan hit 51 in 38 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes and with help of Ishank Jaggi’s 40 in 25 balls with 5 fours and 1 six took Jharkhand to a 8 wicket win.


DELHI 225/8 defeated SERVICES 203 by 23 runs

Rishabh Pant (64 off 32 balls; 11x4s, 1x6s) and contributions from Nitish Rana (30), Dhruv Shorey (25*) and captain Pradeep Sangwan (29 off 9 balls; 4x4s, 2x6s) took Delhi to a massive 225/8 against Services. N Yadav picked 3/53 for Services.

The total was a big one, but Services gave it a valiant effort. Ravi Chauhan’s 53 off 23 balls with 10 fours and 1 six and Nakul Sharma’s 53 off 36 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes kept Services in the chase. But the total proved too much for them and they were restricted to 203 in 20 overs. Kulwant Khejroliya took 3/38, while Sangwan and Tokas took 2 wickets each, to give Delhi a win by 23 runs.


RAJASTHAN 150/6 lost to RAILWAYS 151/6 by 4 wkts

43 from TN Dhillon and 40 from SF Khan was the main innings in Rajasthan’s total of 150/6. Amit Mishra took 2/34. Though Railways lost two quick wickets, Chanderpal Saini’s 41 and Mahesh Rawat’s 37 off 26 balls took Railways to a 4 wicket win. AV Choudhary took 2/31 for Rajasthan.


ASSAM 143/9 lost to BENGAL 147/4 by 6 wkts

Rishav Das’s 53 was the top score in Assam’s total of 143/9. Manoj Tiwary starred with the ball taking 4/23. He then played a captain’s innings making 63* in 53 balls with 8 fours and 1 six. Anustup Majumdar hit 34 in 19 balls with 6 fours to aid Tiwary, as Bengal registered a 6 wickets win.
