Indian domestic cricket’s premier T20 tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali is underway, with the top T20 stars of Indian cricket participating in the event. The tournament was brought forward in order to showcase the domestic talent for the upcoming IPL 2018 auctions.

Here is the summary of January 15 matches results:

HARYANA 141/6 defeated SERVICES 140/8 by 4 wkts

Nakul Verma scored 42 in 32 balls with 3 sixes and 3 fours, while Diwesh Pathania hit 27 down the order to take Services to 140/8 in 20 overs. AK Chahal took 3/36 while JJ Yadav took 2/13 for Haryana.

Haryana lost both their openers for cheap, but SR Chauhan hit 54 in 43 balls with 4 fours and 1 six. Rajat Paliwal and RK Tewatia both hit 29 each to make sure Haryana won the match by 4 wickets in the end.


RAILWAYS 111/6 lost to MADHYA PRADESH 135/7 by 24 runs

Harpreet Bhatia hit 50 and Sohraab Dhaliwal hit 31 to ensure MP reached 135/7 in 20 overs. Amit Mishra took 3/17 and Anureet Singh took 2/18 for Railways.

Though Railways were in the hunt of the low score, consistent fall of wickets kept them from reaching the target. Mahesh Rawat scored 38 in 31 balls and Arindam Ghosh hit 26, but rest of the batting collapsed. Avesh Khan took 2/16 for MP as they defended 135 easily.


VIDARBHA 131/8 lost to UTTAR PRADESH 137/8 by 6 runs

Shivam Chaudhary’s 51 off 49 balls and Akshdeep Nath’s 31 off 22 balls were the foundation of UP’s total of 137/8. Suresh Raina fell for 2 runs off 7 balls. SB Wagh took 3/28 and RD Thakur took 3/29 for Vidarbha.

Fast bowler Amit Mishra took 4/10

Faiz Fazal was run out for 32, while AV Wankhade scored 33 as Vidarbha struggled to reach the small total. Karn Sharma too tried his best with 18 off 16 balls. Amit Mishra was the pick of bowlers for UP with 4/10 in his 4 overs. UP won the match by 6 runs.


HIMACHAL 192/5 lost to PUNJAB 211/4 by 19 runs

Manan Vohra (74 off 42 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes) and Mandeep Singh with 46 off 32 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes took Punjab to 211/4 with an opening partnership of 108. Yuvraj hit 21 off 14 balls with 2 sixes and Gurkeerat Mann hit 36 off 16 balls with 5 fours and 1 six.

Himachal tried their best with Prashant Chopra making 52 with 7 fours and 1 six and Nikhil Gangta making 52* off 32 balls with 7 fours. Paras Dogra took scored 30 off 18 balls with 2 sixes and 2 fours. But ultimately, ended up making 192/5, as their set batsmen failed to stay until end.

Mayank Markande picked 2/35 as Punjab won the match by 19 runs.
