Karun Nair hit 111 for Karnataka

Indian domestic cricket’s premier T20 tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali is underway, with the top T20 stars of Indian cricket participating in the event. The tournament was brought forward in order to showcase the domestic talent for the upcoming IPL 2018 auctions.

Here is the summary of January 12 matches results:

CHHATTISGARH 103 lost to RAJASTHAN 104/3 by 7 wickets

AN Khare (36) and S Gupta (27) were the highest scorers in CG’s score of 103. SKK Ahmed took 4/12, while CP Singh (2/28) and TN Dhillon (2/20) assisted him. Ankit Lamba’s 54* and MK Lomror’s 29* was enough for Rajasthan to romp home by 7 wickets.

PUNJAB 134/9 lost to HARYANA 136/5 by 5 wkts

Mandeep Singh hit 30 in Punjab’s total of 136/9 against Haryana. AR Mishra was the pick of Haryana bowlers with 3/23. Though Barinder Sran picked 3/19 and Harbhajan Singh picked (2/16); HV Patel’s 31 and Rahul Tewatia’s 37 in 22 balls was enough for Haryana to beat Punjab by 5 wickets.

JHARKHAND 177/9 lost to BENGAL 179/4 by 6 wkts

Ishank Jaggi (72 off 32 balls; 10 fours) and Ishan Kishan (49 off 35) were the main scorers for Jharkhand’s 177/9. Manoj Tiwary took 2/27 for Bengal. Though the target was tricky, Sreevats Goswami (58) and V Singh (63 off 40 with 5 sixes) made the chase easy for Bengal. They reached the total in the last over with 6 wickets in hand.

HYDERABAD 129/9 lost to ANDHRA 133/4 by 6 wkts

B Sandeep (39) and Ravi Teja (24) were the top scorers for Hyderabad’s 129/9. MH Reddy took 3/30 for Andhra. Md Siraj took 3/26, but Ricky Bhui (73* in 58 balls) and Ravi Teja (46) took Andhra to the win with 6 wickets in hand.

KARNATAKA 179/9 defeated TAMIL NADU 101 by 78 runs

Karun Nair hit a brilliant 111 in 52 balls with 8 fours and 8 sixes, as Karnataka scored 179/9. TN’s A Davidson took 5/30. TN couldn’t even closer to chasing the total as Pravin Dubey took 4/19, with Washington Sundar top scoring with 34. TN folded for 101 in the 17th over.

J&K 100/9 lost to DELHI 104/2 by 8 wkts

Pawan Negi (3/27) and 2 wickets each by Pradeep Sangwan and NA Saini demolished J&K for 100/9, with Parvez Rasool scoring 37. Rishabh Pant hit 51 in 33 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes and Sarthak Ranjan hit 31 to take Delhi to win by 8 wickets in 12th over.

VIDARBHA 156/5 defeated MADHYA PRADESH 149/9 by 7 runs

Vidarbha hit 156/5 with AV Wankhade top scoring with 43 in 23 balls. G Satish scored 35 and RL Jangid scored 34. RD Thakur’s 4/29 and two wickets each for SB Wagh and AK Karnewar stopped MP’s chase to 149/9. Sohraab Dhaliwal scored 45 in 25 balls and Anshul Tripathi hit 39 in 28 balls.

ODISHA 179/6 defeated TRIPURA 107 by 72 runs

Govinda Poddar’s 55 in 28 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes, along with Rajesh Dhuper’s 42 took Odisha to 179/6. Tripura was never in chase and despite Gurinder Singh’s 39 and MB Mura Singh’s 23, folded for 107 to lose by 72 runs. Suryakant Pradhan took 4/24.

GOA 138/8 lost to KERALA 140/1 by 9 wkts

Keenan’s 36 and Sagun Kamat’s 24 took Goa to 138/8 against Kerala.KM Asif (3/25) and A Mohan (3/30) were the pick of bowlers for Kerala. Sanju Samson hit 65* and KB Arun Karthick hit 37* to take Kerala to win with loss of just 1 wicket.
