The year 2017 is coming to an end with a handful of limited overs matches remaining in it.  However, before the year ends, we had some batsmen and bowlers who performed well throughout the year on a consistent basis and need to be given their due. Therefore, COC brings to you the best eleven (plus one) from the One-Day International cricket in 2017.

Presenting to you the COC ODI XI of the year 2017:

UPUL THARANGA (SL)
1011 runs in 25 ODIs with best of 119 and 6 fifties

Upul Tharanga

Upul Tharanga, Sri Lanka’s former captain was only the third batsman to score 1000 runs this year. His 1011 runs came at an average of 48.14 and he hit 2 centuries including his highest score this year of 119.

ROHIT SHARMA (IND)
1293 runs in 21 ODIs with 6 centuries including a record 3rd double century- 208*

Rohit Sharma scored his third ODI double century this year - 208* | IANS

Rohit Sharma ended his 2017 with a bang with a record third double hundred. He scored 208* against Sri Lanka in the Mohali ODI recently. He also hit 6 centuries this year, including two back to back centuries against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka and a total of 1293 runs in the year at an average of 71.83.

VIRAT KOHLI (IND- CAPTAIN)
1460 runs in 26 ODIs with 6 centuries at avg of 76.84 and best of 131

Virat Kohli became the second highest century maker in ODI cricket history

Virat Kohli proved to be the king of ODI format this year with 1460 runs at an average of 76.84 and 6 centuries to his name. Kohli also became the second highest century maker in ODI history, when scored a century against Australia in ODI series this year. Virat also kept India unbeaten in all series across the three formats as captain.


JOE ROOT (ENG)
983 runs in 19 ODIs with a best of 133*

Joe Root scored the most runs for England this year in ODI cricket

Only English batsman on this list, Joe Root hit 983 runs in 19 ODIs with a highest of 133*. He averaged 70.21 during the year and was the spine of the English batting along with captain Eoin Morgan. He hit 2 centuries in the year and will hope for a better result in the ODI series against Australia in January.

ROSS TAYLOR (NZ)
921 runs in 19 ODIs with 2 centuries in 7 fifties

Ross Taylor

Ross Taylor scored 921 runs in 19 ODIs with 2 centuries to his name. He held the Kiwi batting lineup brilliantly as others failed to step up to the game. Taylor averaged 57.56 and had a high score of 107 runs.

QUINTON DE KOCK (SA-WK)
956 runs in 19 ODIs with a best of 168*

QUINTON DE KOCK

Quinton de Kock has taken the international cricket world by surprise, especially in ODI cricket with some amazing stroke play in recent matches. In 19 ODIs this year, De Kock scored 956 runs at an average of 53.11 and strike rate of 94.84. His highest score this year was 168* which came against Bangladesh in Kimberly.


HARDIK PANDYA (IND)
28 ODIs, 557 runs and 31 wickets, best of 83 and 3/40

Hardik Pandya scored more than 500 runs and took more than 30 wickets in ODIs in 2017

Hardik Pandya proved his worth as an all-rounder this year with more than 500 runs and 30 wickets in 28 ODIs for India. His best score of 83 came in a tough situation against Australia, where he and MS Dhoni rescued India from a tough situation and led them to victory. Pandya will be instrumental in India’s foreign tours next year on fast and bouncy pitches.

RASHID KHAN (AFG)
43 wickets in 16 ODIs including best bowling figures of 7/18

Rashid Khan picked career best 7/18 against West Indies

It is tough to believe that Afghanistan’s leggie Rashid Khan is just 19 years old, as he has emerged as one of the most exciting spinners in ODI and T20I cricket. He made history against West Indies, picking up the fourth best ODI figures ever -7/18. His 43 wickets in 16 ODIs were the second highest in 2017 and he has already sparkled in IPL this year.

HASAN ALI (PAK)
45 wickets in 18 matches with best bowling figures of 5/34

Hasan Ali won the Man of the tournament in ICC CT 2017

Pakistan’s Hasan Ali was instrumental in Pakistan winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and he was rightly adjudged Man of the tournament. Ali picked 45 wickets in 18 matches and his best bowling figure was 5/34.


JASPRIT BUMRAH (IND)
39 wickets in 23 matches with best of 5/27

Bumrah picked career best 5/27 against Sri Lanka

Jasprit Bumrah raised his game to become the strike bowler for India in absence of Umesh Yadav and Mohd Shami in limited overs season. Bumrah picked 39 wickets in 23 matches and picked up his first 5 wicket haul against Sri Lanka- 5/27. With him set to make his Test debut against South Africa next year, it will be exciting to see how Bumrah performs in five-day cricket.

TRENT BOULT (NZ)
28 wickets in 15 matches with best of 7/34

Trent Boult picked career best 7/34

Trent Boult blew away West Indies with his career best figures of 7/34 recently. He picked 28 wickets in 15 matches and even throughout the year. His efforts with the ball and in the field have helped New Zealand put up the fight against India in the recent ODI series, where New Zealand defeated India in the first ODI match of the series.

JOSH HAZLEWOOD (AUS)- 12th MAN
19 wickets in 9 matches with best of 6/52

Josh Hazlewood best bowling 6/52 came against New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017

Though Josh Hazlewood played only 9 ODI matches this year, he picked up 19 wickets and left enough of an impact to be selected in the COC ODI XI of the year as the 12th man. His best bowling 6/52 came against New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
