Before the start of fifth day's play, there were huge drizzles of rain in Perth stadium at the end of Day 4 where England batsmen were struggling with Mitchell Starc's ball of the summer that took Vince wicket clean bowled. Australia made sure everything is going according to the plan. Marsh and Smith run stand had so many records to their name before Anderson spell his magic over them.

The play had to start early by half an hour today at the final day but the rain did not stop at all, the covers were going on and off repeatedly with overs getting reduced, gradually there was no stopping of rain and player went to the field with a delayed start after the 1st session got over.

The fifth day proceeded with Pat Cummings firing up his bouncer to Dawid Malan who was batting with Bairstow who fell cheaply to Josh Hazlewood's delivery. Josh Hazlewood has been on fire from the start of the third Innings taking the wickets of the openers too.

Moeen Ali came to the crease to help Malan who was struggling alone at the strike, where it was so important for Moeen Ali to perform, he disappointed his team yet again after getting out the fifth time to Nathan Lyon in six innings. Chris Woakes joined Malan who batted well for his half-century, the score was 188 for 6 down. 

Australia was only 3 wickets away when alone horse Dawid Malan went caught to Josh Hazlewood by Tim Paine. Australia was on the verge of sealing Ashes 2017 and regaining the championship.

The deficit was 63 runs at the fallen wicket of Craig Overton, Australia proudly cruised toward victory. Smiles on everyone faces. Pat Cummings joined the party with Hazlewood grabbing his five-wicket hall.

Pat Cummings immediately took no time to take Chris Woakes wicket down and win the third Ashes test by an innings and 41 runs and with regaining the Ashes 2017 Australia are on top.England all out on 218.Special credits to Mitchell Marsh and Josh Hazlewood, Steven Smith would be delighted with the performance of the team.

A final day which threatened to never get started after the pitch fiasco and all the intermittent rain. But eventually, there was no stopping Australia.The next Ashes test will be on 26th December which will be played at Melbourne Cricket ground.
