IPL 2018: 3 Players which the franchises might retain

CSK and RR will be back after two years of suspension

Mumbai India after lifting 2018 IPL trophyThe 11th and the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League is five months away but the auction process for the players have just started. After the IPL Governing Council meeting, it has been decided that the teams can retain maximum up to 3 players with 2 right to match card. Though it was also determined that no team could retain more than three Indian players and two foreign players.

The total kitty of each team will vary from Rs 66 to 80 crores with salary cap also increased for uncapped players. The teams will have to take the final decision before the commencement of the auction which is likely to take place in early February.

Regarding Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royal which were terminated facing two years ban are going to make a comeback this year. CSK and RR can retain players who moved to Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions following a two years draft.

So here are 3 players which each franchise would like to retain in IPL 2018 edition-

Chennai Super Kings- Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Ravichandran Ashwin 

1. Chennai Super Kings would definitely want their priceless players to be back in the yellow jersey and to play whistle podu cricket once again on the field. Dhoni as an amazing Captain has taken his team six times in final winning it two times. 

Suresh Raina being the leading run scorer in IPL will definitely roar once again with his bat scoring 4540 runs until now, the Mr. IPL has scored more than 350 runs in every edition of the tournament.

Ashwin will be also retained by CSK in the upcoming edition as he is in his form of the year. With his carrom ball specialty and support from Chennai crowd, he will not disappoint his fans.

2. Mumbai Indians- Rohit Sharma, Bumrah, and H Pandya/ Kieron Pollard 

The current champions and three-time winners would definitely try not to mix up with their preferences and selection of choice. They will for sure want to retain Rohit Sharma as he has led the team for winning three IPL championship title, on his day he can be very destructive and destroy the opponent.

Jasprit Bumrah the T20 specialist will also have his berth confirmed with winning the super over for Mumbai Indians against Gujarat Lions, that was some exceptional performance by the bowler.

Mumbai Indians will face one dicey situation in choosing between Pandya and Pollard, both the players have the ability to finish the game batting lower the order with fantastic fielding skills. Pandya will have more chance as an Indian player and his recent form of Champions Trophy.

3. Rajasthan Royals- Steven Smith, Ajinkya Rahane

Rajasthan Royals would definitely want their old players back in the team with Steven Smith as the captain of the team who took RPS in the final last year but unfortunately was one run shot winning their first ever IPL title. He has a very good run in IPL with an average of 37.

Ajinkya Rahane the oldest player in Rajasthan's dugout will also like to get retained by his team, very good in the covers Rahane will provide stability in Royals top order.

 

4. Royal Challengers Bangalore- Virat Kohli, Ab De Villiers, and Chris Gayle

The team with most experienced and destructive batting line-up will like to challenge their fortune once again in the upcoming IPL 2018. Royal Challengers have to try their luck out. The captain of the team Virat Kohli will definitely be retained as his brilliant form in 2016 edition scoring 973 runs and four centuries in a single tournament.

Ab De Villiers the Mr. 360 will also be backed up by his team with the ability to play any shot at any delivery thrown to him, you cannot keep him away from the game with an exceptional positive mindset on the field.

Chris Gayle the Godzilla of cricket might also get retained by Bangalore as you never know when he starts connecting the ball there's no stopping him. The Chinnaswamy crowd and stadium will wait for his huge sixes in IPL 2018.

5. Kings XI Punjab- Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, and Hashim Amla

Kings XI Punjab will like to retain their Captain Glenn Maxwell as you never know when he starts to perform he can single handily take the game away from the opponent. A great slogger in middle overs.

The second player to get retained by Kings XI would be David Miller with his quick running skills between the wickets he can be very effective in the match. 

Hashim Amla would be the third player who would be retained by Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2018 as he acts like a solid pillar for Punjab he is difficult to be replaced.

6. Sunrisers Hyderabad- David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar/ Rashid Khan

SRH the winners of 2016 edition would be retaining their Australian Captain Warner because he fires in the top of the innings with being the leading run scorer for his team.

The Gabbar Shikhar Dhawan would likely be the next player to be retained by SRH for being very attacking in the opening overs of the match.

The team would make a choice in between Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan because both the players have performed quite well to the expectations of the team but Bhuvi will have an edge over Young Rashid Khan.

7. Kolkata Knight Riders- Gautam Gambhir, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell

The two times champions Kolkata would like to go with their basic and trustworthy players. Gautam Gambhir has led the team in front with his extraordinary Captaincy skills.

Sunil Narine the best T20 spinner in the world right now will definitely spread his magic over KKR franchise to get his name booked in advance.

Next KKR would be targeting Andre Russell to retain him for IPL 2018 after his allrounder technique that can advantage Knight Riders in important matches

8. Delhi Daredevils- Quinton De Kock, Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada / Pat Cummins 

Despite Having so much of bad luck in IPL Delhi team will like to retain their current attacking opening wicketkeeper De Kock as he comes with a lot of responsibility.

Chris Morris - The South African allrounder would definitely make up to be a daredevil after his extraordinary form scoring 76 runs just off just 25 balls against GL.

The bowling unit might have a choice in between Rabada and Pat Cummings as both the pacers are enough capable to clinch quick early wickets.
