CWC 2019: No replacement sought for Shikhar Dhawan, will be kept under observation, as per reports

India will play Pakistan on June 16, Sunday in the big ticket match, after facing New Zealand on June 13.

Shikhar Dhawan's thumb gets examined during game against Australia Indian team were dealt a heavy blow before their important match against New Zealand on June 13, Thursday, as Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of tournament for three weeks due to a broken thumb on left hand.

Dhawan was hit on his hand during his innings of 117 against Australia in his Man of the Match performances  as India won by 36 runs. He has been instrumental in India’s success in ICC tournaments and his partnership with Rohit Sharma is one of the dangerous ones in the world. 

Earlier it was reported that either Rishabh Pant or Shreyas Iyer would be called on to replace Dhawan in the Indian team going forward in the tournament. 

However, as per reports from Times Now, the Indian team management had decided to stick with Shikhar Dhawan and have sought no replacement for him. Instead, he will be kept under observation with the team’s medical staff.
