Pakistan great Javed Miandad showered rich praise on Babar Azam, saying the Lahore-born talented batsman reminds him of the Asian Bradman Zaheer Abbas after he struck a brilliant hundred to guide his team to massive win over Bangladesh in Rawalpindi Test.

The 25-year-old struck a brilliant knock of 143 runs in the first Test to climb up two spots – fifth place on the ICC (International Cricket Council) Test rankings and won the game by an innings and 44 runs in Rawalpindi on Monday, February 10.

He is currently ranked number one and third-ranked batsman in the T20I and ODI cricket respectively and Miandad was all in awe for the young talent but feels he needs to tune himself a bit for better shown on the overseas conditions.

Miandad said on his YouTube Channel, “Babar is a great talent and the way he plays is just like that of former test cricketer Zaheer Abbas. He just needs to tune himself a bit when playing on foreign tours according to the wickets there.”

He also lavished praise on the young fast bowlers for their show in the first Test against Bangladesh. Miandad signed off by saying, “Fast bowlers always perform better at home grounds as they know the art of reverse swing and our pacers did wonders in the Test match.”
