Pakistan batsman Babar Azam has been in the form of his life as he is churning out runs in every series in recent times. The right-hander also scored a superb century against Bangladesh in the first Test played at Rawalpindi.

Thus, with a string of good performances, Babar has climbed up two spots and is on the fifth spot on the ICC (International Cricket Council) Test rankings issued after the Rawalpindi Test.

The top 4 are still unchanged with Indian skipper Virat Kohli at the top followed by Australia’s Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. The New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson takes the fourth spot and is just above Babar.

As far as the bottom five are concerned, David Warner and Cheteshwar Pujara slip one spot and take the sixth and seventh spot respectively.

Ajinkya Rahane who is the third Indian in this top-10 list of batsmen is still at the ninth spot with England’s Joe Root and Ben Stokes taking the eighth and tenth spot.

After the victory against Bangladesh in the first Test, the Green Army will now take the field against the same visitors for a one-off ODI followed by the second Test match both to be played at National Stadium in Karachi.

Virat Kohli and Co., on the other hand, will be taking on New Zealand in a two-match Test series after a humiliating 3-0 loss in the three-match ODI series.
