PAK v BAN 2020: Pakistan bags full 60 WTC points after innings victory in Rawalpindi 

Bangladesh collapsed twice inside four days after conceding a mammoth first-innings total.

Pakistan won by an innings and 44 runs | GettyBangladesh's struggles as a Test side continued in the first game in Rawalpindi as the team suffered yet another innings defeat in the longest format to give dominant hosts Pakistan full 60 points towards the ongoing World Test Championship cycle. 

The visitors, being put in to bat after losing the toss, were bundled out for just 233 in the first innings; sole half-centurion Mohammad Mithun top-scored with a decent 63 while the rest failed to provide any resistance to the likes of Shaheen Afridi (4/53), Mohammad Abbas (2/19), Haris Sohail (2/11), who delivered fine spells.

In response, brilliant hundreds from openers Shan Masood (100), Babar Azam (143) and half-centuries by Asad Shafiq (65), Haris Sohail (75) propelled the hosts past the Bangladeshi total by a very significant margin as they finished with a 445-run total, taking an intimidating lead of 212 runs. 

Abu Jayed (3/86) and Rubel Hossain (3/113) picked up three wickets each for Bangladesh. 

Having missed out in the first innings, it was time for young prodigy Naseem Shah to the come to the party for Pakistan with the ball and so the pacer did, delivering a magnificent spell of 4/26 that included a hat-trick, making him the youngest to take a triple in Test cricket at the age of just 16. 

Leg-spinner Yasir Shah (4/58) also bowled a very good spell as Bangladesh got bowled out for just 168 in less than 63 overs, conceding an innings and 44-run defeat, with no one from the team's batting line-up standing upto the task. 

The next Test of the two-match series will be played in the third leg of Bangladesh's visit to the country in Karachi from April 5.
