SA v ENG 2020: South Africa retain same squad for remaining two Tests against England

The series is level at 1-1 with 2 Tests to go.

South Africa have retained the same squad for the third Test at Port Elizabeth, playing XI along with the twelfth man will be traveling early to the venue.

The Proteas suffered a big defeat against England in the second Test at Newlands after winning the first Test and beginning the series on a high. The home side almost saw it through on the final day but fell short by just around 8 overs.

However, they have kept the same team that suffered a 189-run loss for the third Test. The playing XI will remain the same at Port Elizabeth and Dane Paterson will be the twelfth man. He will be traveling along with the XI to the venue before the rest of the substitutes as they will be fulfilling their domestic duties till the third Test starts.

Cricket South Africa stated in a release, "The selection panel are placing an emphasis on the importance of game time for non-starting players and prefer that they are available to their teams to help boost the competition. They will join the national team if and when required.

The South Africa v England Test series is now level at 1-1 with two more Tests to go.

Faf du Plessis (c), Quinton de Kock, Dean Elgar, Keshav Maharaj, Rassie van der Dussen, Pieter Malan, Zubayr Hamza, Anrich Nortje, Dane Paterson, Vernon Philander, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Temba Bavuma, Andile Phehlukwayo, Beuran Hendricks, Rudi Second.
