The England team came out with an impressive performance on the fifth and final day of the second Test match against South Africa at Newlands, Cape Town. South Africa started the day on 126/2 with Malan unbeaten on 63.
He continued frustrating the English bowlers, while Keshav Maharaj fell for 2 runs to Anderson. Faf du Plessis fell for 19 and Van der Dussen fell for 17 runs. Sam Curran removed Malan for 84 off 288 balls, with only 3 fours in his innings. Quinton de Kock then hit 50 in 107 balls to prolong the inevitable.
But in the end, Ben Stokes picked three quick wickets to remove the tail, after Denly had picked De Kock’s wicket. South Africa folded for 248 runs and lost the match by 189 runs.
Stokes ended with 3/35, while Anderson and Denly picked two wickets apiece as England leveled the series 1-1 and registered their first win in Cape Town since 1957.
