AUS v NZ 2020: WATCH- David Warner makes a young fan’s day as he gifts him his bat

Warner also gifted his helmet and gloves to kids during this Test.

Warner gifts his bat to a young fan | TwitterThe ball-tampering scandal rocked the Australian sporting circle to the core. The deeds of Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft brought irreparable damage to Australia cricket’s reputation and it seems Warner is adamant about changing his image in the public.

Ever since returning from the ban in March of 2018, Warner has mellowed down in terms of his aggression and has become more kid-friendly. That might also be because he got to spend so much time with his family during the ban and his daughters are his life. However, the Australian opener, who scored a triple hundred recently in Tests, is slowly becoming a fan favorite.

AUS v NZ 2019-20: "Return of Smith-Warner has made us a much more consistent," feels Tim Paine

Cricket Australia chief Kevin Roberts posted a video of David Warner practicing in the ground and while returning back to the pavilion, he gifted his bat to a young fan who was waiting for an autograph from him.

Roberts also mentioned that "A cricket fan took this short video of @davidwarner31 inspiring the next generation at the SCG the other day. Dave also gave his helmet and gloves to children during the test match. They will remember these gestures forever. Well done Dave. @CricketAus #GivingBack"

Here is the video:

This is not the first time Warner has done such things. In the past as well, he has been gifting young fans his gloves and during this series, a lucky young kid received Warner’s helmet from the player himself. Warner spends more time with kids in the crowds and happily signs autographs for them.

He also scored his 24th Test hundred in the third Test against the Kiwis at the SCG, helping Australia rout them by 279 runs and bagged the series 3-0.
