AUS v PAK 2019: Cricket fraternity hails Yasir Shah as he scores valiant ton in Adelaide

Yasir resisted the Australian attack in difficult conditions to help Pakistan delay the follow-on call.

Yasir Shah scored a ton | GettyYasir Shah may have had a torrid time in Australia as a specialist leg-spinner but the capable lower-order batsman found his silver lining amid the dark clouds with a solid ton in the first innings of the second Test in Adelaide.

Yasir came out to bat with Pakistan struggling badly at 89/6 in response to the hosts' colossal 589/3 (declared). But unfazed of the situation and the quality of the attack faced, the right-hander provided able support throughout a resolute 105-run stand to his more renowned partner Babar Azam, who himself missed on a second ton for the series by just a whisker, being dismissed on 97 out caught off Mitchell Starc.

However, Yasir continued defying the odds, going past fifty and playing his shots to all the parts of the ground with tail-enders Mohammad Abbas (29) and Muhammad Musa (12*) for good company.

The 33-year-old later brought up his maiden first-class century in his 37th Test for Pakistan; a remarkable achievement hailed by everyone.

Yasir's resistance helped kept the Aussies on park for longer than they would've liked in the first innings but even he couldn't evade the follow-on that was eventually enforced upon his dismissal off Pat Cummins on 113.

The cricket fraternity stood up and applauded Yasir for his unforgettable hundred.
