Legendary Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram was not really impressed by the way Yasir Shah celebrated Steve Smith’s wicket during the first Test between Australia and Pakistan,  taunting the Aussie with a seven-finger salute in Brisbane.

At the Gabba, Smith, Australia’s premier Test batsman could face only 10 deliveries before being dismissed by veteran Pakistan spinner Shah in the first Domain Test of the two-Test series.

After dismissing number one ranked Test batsman, the 33-year-old celebrated the wicket by putting both of his hands up, signaling seven, as that was the seventh time Shah had dismissed him in Tests.

Shah’s unique style of celebration left Wasim worried for him, calling the send-off as an inexperience mistake, saying the players must understand the context of the game before celebrating in this way.

As per reports in FoxSports.com.au, Akram said: “You know in our times when I played I didn’t bother with how many times I got out who. It was the last thing on our minds. Nowadays, with stats, people know everything.”

The face-bowling great continued, “But I, as a bowler, (worried about) ‘am I impacting the game or not? Am I winning the game for Pakistan or vice versa?’ If not, that doesn’t matter if I’ve got him seven times. It was just an inexperienced mistake. I hope he hasn’t poked the bear there.”

Noteworthy, after massive defeat in Brisbane, Pakistan recalled experienced paceman Mohammad Abbas and Imam-ul-Haq with out of form Haris Sohail and Imran Khan dropped for the second and final Test – Day-Night affair at the Adelaide Oval from Friday, November 29.

The 19-year-old pace bowler Muhammad Musa will also make his Test debut in Adelaide, replacing 16-year-old pace sensation Naseem Shah to manage his workload.
