Having lost the first Test of the ongoing series in Brisbane by an innings and five runs, Pakistan is considering changes to its playing XI for the second in Adelaide starting November 29. 

It is believed, the team management could correct the debatable exclusion of pacer Mohammad Abbas this time, and might also rope in Imam Ul Haq in place of struggling middle-order batsman Haris Sohail. 

Imam himself said on Wednesday (November 27) he is preparing hard for the pink-ball D/N encounter and also heaped praise on Abbas, who was deemed a guaranteed starter by many ahead of the Gabba Test.

"Mohammad Abbas is always a very tough competitor and he's a very class act," Imam said. "His performances and his stats show that ... he's difficult to judge off the pitch because his ball nips around, especially the new ball. And with a pink ball under lights (he) will be difficult."

While Abbas has taken 66 wickets at 18.9 in the 14 Tests he has played, Imam averages 28.4 after 10 Tests with three half-centuries to his name. "As a cricket player, as a 15-man squad, you have to be mentally ready (to play) so whenever you get a chance you should be ready," he added. 

Imam said the dressing room atmosphere is fine and everyone confident despite the heavy defeat last week. 

"You play one bad session and you're all over the place. We played outstandingly in the first session and they (Australia) were panicked. But they came back really strong," he concluded.
