Stuart Broad and Jack Leach picked up four wickets each, helping England beat Australia by 135 runs in the fifth and the final Test at The Oval to level the Ashes 2-2. However, the visitors retained the urn on account of their last series win at home two seasons ago.

After the series got over, players from both sides showed remarkable sportsmanship. The Aussies and Englishmen came together in a single dressing room, leaving behind all the rivalry and sledging out on the field.

England Cricket’s official Twitter handle posted the picture of players sharing a dressing room and captioned the post as “This is what Ashes cricket is all about! Which conversation would you join”.

It was the first instance after 47 years that the Ashes series ended in a draw. While Australia won the Ashes opener at Edgbaston by 251 runs, they won the fourth Test in Manchester by 185 runs to reclaim the urn for the very first time since 2001 on English soil. On the other hand, England’s other victory came at Headingley by 1 wicket.

For Australia, Steve Smith was adjudged Man-of-the-Series for his astonishing 774 runs from seven innings while Ben Stokes received the same award for England after his brilliant all-round show throughout the campaign.
