Day four of the first Test between West Indies and India of the two-match series saw Indian team holding the upper hand after some amazing batting effort from Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli and Hanuma Vihari.
Kohli and Rahane resumed from 185/3, but lost the captain for 51, giving Roston Chase (4/132) his 3rd wicket. Then Rahane, along with Hanuma Vihari added 135 runs for the fifth wicket and put Indian team into the driver’s seat. Rahane completed his 10th Test ton, which came after a wait of more than 2 years. He finally fell going for quick runs for 102 to Gabriel.
Hanuma Vihari then took over and was looking good for his maiden Test hundred, but edged one to keeper Hope off Holder, for 93 runs. Virat Kohli declared with India on 343/7 and set West Indies a target of 419 runs.
