India did well to recover from 25/3 to score 297.

Resuming at 203/6 on the second day of the first Test at Antigua, India quickly lost the wicket of wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant for 24 as Kemar Roach picked up his fourth wicket. India were in danger of being bowled out under 250, but all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was joined by veteran Ishant Sharma, who is known to put a price on his wicket despite his limited batting skills.

Jadeja and Ishant added 60 priceless runs for the 8th wicket, before the fast bowler was cleaned up by Shannon Gabriel. Mohammad Shami came and went in a jiffy, but Jasprit Bumrah hung around long enough with Jadeja to help the all-rounder reach his 11th half-century before he was dismissed for 58 with India's score at 297.

India would be a tad disappointed with the final score, but would probably have taken it after losing three of their top order wickets with just 25 runs on the boardy. Ajinkya Rahane struck 81 important runs before Jadeja's resistance frustated West Indies.

Twitterati was impressed by Ravindra Jadeja's growing stature as a batsman at the highest level, and applauded his half-century. Here are some of the tweets:
