Having started his Test career with scores of 76, 42 and 77 in Australia last season, opener Mayank Agarwal now wishes to make a maiden ton in whites for India on the tour of Caribbean next month.

The two-match series begins on August 22 after the limited-overs leg is done and Mayank says he is ripe to tackle the varying conditions on offer in Antigua and Jamaica against a quality West Indies pace quartet.

"I have got enough time to prepare for the series. This is a big opportunity for me. I have never played in the West Indies. I look forward to a good one. If given a chance, I will give my best," Mayank, who finally received his maiden Test cap in Melbourne after scoring tons of runs at the domestic level for Karnataka, told TOI

"Whatever I learnt in Australia, I will apply in the Test series against the West Indies. Honestly, there was a lot to learn from (the) Australia (tour). It was a big opportunity for me. I wanted to perform and thankfully I did. I am happy that I scored well," he added.

Mayank will have the opportunity to rebegin his Test career after an eight-month scheduling gap and take that form forward to the home season that sees India face-off South Africa and Bangladesh before the tour of New Zealand next January.

"I scored 70s in both the Tests (Melbourne and Sydney) and I would like to convert those 70s into 100s in the West Indies," he signed off.
