The Indian Women’s Cricket team crashed out of the ongoing Women’s World T20 2018 in West Indies after losing the semifinal against England.
Indian women’s team batted first after Harmanpreet won the toss. Mandhana (34) and Rodrigues (26) set it up brilliantly for the middle order to take over with the team on 89/2 in 14th over. However, Heather Knight crashed the party taking three wickets and India collapsed to 112 all out.
England’s chase was wobbly as both openers went back into the pavilion for single-digit scores. However, Amy Jones (53*) and Natalie Sciver (52*) thwarted any hopes India might have had of making a miraculous comeback and England went into the finals with an 8-wicket win, where they will face Australia.
Despite the heartbreaking loss in the semifinals, the Indian cricket fraternity was supportive and applauded the team’s performance in the tournament as they had qualified for the semis undefeated in the group stage.

What a great campaign it turned out to be for the @BCCIWomen's team. Unfortunate to have missed out in the semis but nevertheless the future looks bright for sure #INDvENG #WWT20

A bad day for India and they go down to England in the semi finals. After thoroughly outplaying the opposition in the first 4 games, a disappointing end. Hope they learn from the experience #IndWvEngW

Not a pleasing result for India @WorldT20. Yet again a loss in the semi finals for @BCCIWomen

A heartbreaking loss for the Indian women last night to crash out of the T 20 world cup, but hey @BCCIWomen you were awesome through the tournament and we are all proud of you.????

Alas, @BCCIWomen stumble in the semis. Game effort to defend paltry score but not good enough. Not playing @M_Raj03 in such a crucial match baffling. This is where experience could have made a vital difference.

Easy to diss the think-tank for not playing Mithali even in the SF....but if the reason is to give priority to role over reputation, Indian cricket has taken a giant leap courtesy its women. #WWT20 #IndvEng

India paid the price for two mistakes. One in planning, by dropping Mithali on this pitch. The other in execution, by rushing down the pitch to muscle the ball in front of the pitch on a very slow pitch.#ICCWWT20

Can understand, if you have to, that you leave out Mithali in a 180 game. But on a tough pitch? Then you play your best players and she is that. https://t.co/n3bbSodiC6

A tough result for the girls today, but they played their hearts out. I'm proud of what they have achieved in the tournament. Well done team! ???????? #WT20 @BCCIWomen @WorldT20
