The 2018 Women’s World T20 gets underway today (Nov 9, 2018) in the West Indies with the Indian women’s team taking on the New Zealand women’s team in the tournament opener at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Indian team is led by Harmanpreet Kaur and features stars like Mithali Raj, Smriti Mandhana, Poonam Yadav, Veda Krishnamurthy, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma amongst others.

Team India has been placed in the Group B along with New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, and Pakistan. India has made it into the semifinals of the World T20 twice in 2009 and 2010; but since then, has failed to go past the group stage.

India’s stand-in captain Rohit Sharma took to Twitter in order to wish the Indian Women’s team for the 2018 Women’s World T20.

He tweeted, “ICC #WT20 starts tonight and we all are backing our girls!
