The Indian women’s team received their new look jerseys for the one-off Test match that they will be playing on their upcoming tour of England. It will be their first Test match after seven years as they had last played Test matches in 2014, against South Africa and England.

The women’s squad is currently quarantining in a hotel in Mumbai along with the men’s team before they fly to the UK for their tour, which will also consist of WODIs and WT20I matches. The Test match was announced by BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Women’s Day.

Not only this, but the Indian women’s team will also play their maiden day-night Test when they tour Australia after the conclusion of their England sojourn.

Meanwhile, Indian cricket’s legends Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami were on the stage to present the Test jerseys to the Indian women’s team players, who were all individually called on the stage to be handed their jersey.

The first jersey was given to Mithali Raj, by the trio of Goswami, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Smriti Mandhana. Then Harmanpreet and Mandhana got their jerseys from Mithali and Jhulan, who went onto present the jersey to others.
