Meg Lanning saved by the stump mic

The Indian women’s side took on Australia in the final of this women’s T20 tri-series on Wednesday (12 February) at the Junction Oval in Melbourne.

Australian skipper Meg Lanning won the toss and elected to bat first but the Indian bowling attack reduced Australia to 96/2 at the end of 13th over with skipper Lanning at the crease herself.

While batting, the 25-year-old played a ball to straight to mid-off and went for a quick single. But Shikha Pandey got the ball and threw it right at the stumps but to her agony, the ball hit the stump mic unit and got deflected away from the stumps.

Lanning who was on the floor trying to make her ground soon realized an opportunity to sneak in another single and called for it, in the end getting a couple of runs where it should’ve been a run-out.
