Famous American pop-star Katy Perry is ready for 'fireworsk' in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2020 closing ceremony through her performance. She is set to perform at the final of the ICC's showpiece tournament. The tournament is set to be held from February 21.
The Women's T20 World Cup 2020 final will take place at Melbourne on March 8, which is also celebrated as International women's day.
"Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi! Let's break some records - join me in Melbourne on March 8, 2020, for the ICC @T20WorldCup Women's Final. We'll Roar in support of these awesome women on International Women's Day!" wrote Perry in her Instagram post.
Speaking up for the equality of women, Perry said, "I'm all about celebrating equality and the achievements of women, which naturally happens on a global scale on International Women's Day. It's no coincidence that I said yes to performing live at the women's final on this day."
Excited for the performance, she said, "I hope to bring a unifying, electric performance playing some of my most empowering songs for the best female cricketers on the planet and some of my greatest fans, as we all unite to support gender equality and empower people to achieve everything that they desire."
