Virat Kohli was at his best in the recently concluded ODI series against the West Indies as he scored two superb centuries in two consecutive matches as India sealed the series by winning it 2-0. After the first match of the series was washed out, came Kohli’s 42nd and 43rd centuries as he became the first batsman to score 20,000 international runs in a decade.

Losing Rohit Sharma early due to miscommunication with his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan meant Virat Kohli walked out to bat in the 3rd over with Team India chasing 255 runs in 35 overs (DLS target).

After playing a few deliveries cautiously, Kohli got settled and started to hit his shots. On the fifth ball of 22nd over, Kohli hit his counterpart Jason Holder towards extra cover for a boundary. Kohli gave himself room, bent his back knee and hit the ball on the up, over the cover fielder for a stunning boundary.

Here is the video of that shot:

That shot from the Delhi based right-hand batsman left everyone in awe. Former West Indies batsman Sir Vivian Richards who was present in the commentary box was one of them as he went on to say, “Look at the body language…. oh, man. I’d be happy to play something like that when I was playing.

Earlier, Kohli tweeted a photo with Richards and referred to him as the ‘biggest boss’.

It was then revealed by another West Indies great Ian Bishop that Richards was ‘honoured’ to have a picture clicked with the Indian captain as his tweet read, “So Virat tweeted this yesterday. I asked Sir Vivian about it today. He seemed unaware of the Virat’s tweet. Sir Viv said that he was so honored to have his photo taken with Virat the “legend”. Such humility and presence by the great man. #batonofficiallypassed
