West Indies and India are facing each other in the final ODI of the three-match series at Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad on Wednesday (August 14).

West Indies skipper Jason Holder won the toss and opted to bat first. Proving their captain’s decision right, the Caribbean openers – Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis – got the hosts off to a flying start. In particular, Gayle was in a devastating best as he smashed the Indian fast bowlers to all parts of the ground.

The duo of Gayle and Lewis put up 115 runs for the first wicket in just 10.5 overs. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal drew the first blood for India by removing Lewis for 43 off 29 balls. In the very next over, left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed got rid of Gayle but not before the Universe Boss dazzled the crowd with his jaw-dropping 72 off 41 deliveries.

Chris Gayle’s swashbuckling batting display was laced with 8 fours and 5 sixes as West Indies posted 158/2 before the rain stopped play after the completion of 22 overs.

Cricket experts on Twitter were left mesmerised to see the way Gayle smoked the Indian bowlers all over the park, possibly in his last ODI innings.
