West Indies and India are facing each other in the second ODI of the three-match series at Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad.

Opting to bat first, the visitors lost left-handed opener Shikhar Dhawan (2) cheaply. The pair of captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma added 74 runs for the second wicket to bail the team out of trouble.

While Rohit failed to kick on after a cautions start of 34-ball 18, Kohli was determined to end his century drought. The Indian skipper, who failed to hit a single hundred during the recently held World Cup, stitched 125 runs for the fourth wicket with Shreyas Iyer and in the process notched up his 42nd ton in the 50-over format.

Carlos Brathwaite ended Kohli’s party in the 42nd over but not before he scored 120 off 125 balls with 14 fours and 1 six. After losing Virat, India lost the plot as West Indies bowlers bounced back to remove the well-set Iyer for 68-ball 71 and followed it up with the wicket of Kedar Jadhav (16).

In the end, Ravindra Jadeja played run-a-ball innings of 16 runs to take India to 279/7 in 50 overs.

Cricket experts on Twitter were quite impressed with the way Kohli paced his innings after India lost both the openers cheaply.
