Indian skipper Virat Kohli is about to break Javed Miandad’s record of most runs against West Indies in ODIs as the right-hand batsman is just 19-runs away from overtaking Miandad.

The legendary Pakistani batsman who played his last ODI against West Indies in 1993 scored 1930 runs against 'Men in Maroon' in 64 innings at an average of 33.85. Virat Kohli on the other hand has 1912 runs in 33 innings at a brilliant average of 70.81.

Hence if he manages to score 19 more runs in the upcoming second ODI at Port of Spain on Sunday (August 11), he will break Miandad's 26-year-old record in just 34 innings.

Virat Kohli did not get to bat in the rain affected first match of the ODI series against West Indies as the hosts batting only 13 overs was all we could get at Providence Stadium, Guyana before the match was called off.

The 30-year-old looked really good in the recently concluded T20I series in which India completely dominated as they clinched the series 3-0.

The Delhi based batsman was the highest scorer amongst the 'Men in Blue' as he managed to get 106 runs under his belt and was just below Kieron Pollard in the list of highest run-scorers as the latter scored 115 runs in 3 matches.
