There have been a lot of speculations regarding Indian team selection for next month’s West Indies tour. Reports were claiming that some important members of the World Cup squad may skip the tour, but it now turns out that a full-strength squad will be picked for the series in the Caribbean.

As per a report published in Mumbai Mirror, India’s World Cup squad, barring one or two exceptions due to workload management, will not be rested. Notably, skipper Virat Kohli is expected to be part of the one-month long tour, starting August 3. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah might be given a break considering India’s packed home season. The entire support staff is also expected to accompany the side.

However, there is no certainty whether veteran wicketkeeper batsman MS Dhoni will be travelling to the West Indies. After the semi-final loss, captain Kohli said that Dhoni has not told him anything about his future plans.

With some key BCCI officials are currently in London, there may be a chance that the selection meeting could take place on July 19 and clarity on Dhoni’s availability will also be known on that day.

India’s tour of West Indies will commence with three T20Is, two of which will be played in Florida, USA. This will be followed by an ODI series from August 8 to 14 and the assignment will culminate with a two-match Test series from August 22 to September 3.
