England decimated West Indies by record 137 runs in the second T20I at Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts last night and sealed the series T20I series with one match to go.
On a belter of a wicket, captain Jason Holder won the toss and asked England to bat first. And Windies bowler gave a perfect start to their team by removing Jonny Bairstow, Alex Hales, Eoin Morgan and Joe Denly for a cheap score and put England into trouble at 32/4. Joe Root and Sam Billings took the charge of rebuilding the innings and their 82 runs partnership for the fifth wicket brought England back into the game. Joe Root got run out after scoring 55 runs off 40 balls.
In the death overs, Sam Billings smoked all West Indies bowlers and his splendid knock of 87 runs off just 47 balls helped England to post a good total of 182/6 in their 20 overs.
In reply West Indies started off very poorly and lost wickets in a cluster in the powerplay and reduced to 22/6 in the first 6 overs itself and not a single batsman could put up a fight and eventually they bowled out for a mere score of 45 runs and suffered a big loss of 137 runs and also lost the series.
