England beat West Indies by 29 runs in a very high scoring fourth ODI in Grenada and took a 2-1 lead in the series with one match to go. Earlier, West Indies asked England to bat first and openers Jonny Bairstow and Alex Hales gave a great start of 100 runs in just 14 overs and set the platform for a big score. Both Jonny Bairstow and Alex Hales got out after completing their fifties. Joe Root also perished cheaply and England were reduced to 165/3. Captain Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler took the charge and rebuilt the innings to take the score to 264/3 in the 40th over and after that they went on to smash all the Windies bowlers all over the park and brought up their respective hundreds. Jos Buttler was dealing only in boundaries and scored 150 runs off just 77 balls and in the end England finished at 418/6.

In reply, West Indies also started hitting strongly from the first over but John Campbell and Shai Hope couldn't contribute much and West Indies were reduced to 44/2. Chris Gayle was rock solid at his end and was hitting sixes for fun and alongwith Darren Bravo he added 176 runs in the next 18 overs and also brought up his hundred in just 55 balls and at 220/2 in 23 overs West Indies were looking good to chase down the target but in the span of three balls they lost Darren Bravo and Shimron Hetmyer. Later, Chris Gayle and Jason Holder rebuilt the innings and Gayle also completed his 150 but he couldn't convert this into a double hundred and Ben Stokes sent him back to pavilion and in next over Holder also got out. Carlos Brathwaite and Ashley Nurse's 88 runs partnership pulled things back and West Indies needed 30 runs in the last 3 overs but spinner Adil Rashid picked up 4 wickets in one over and West Indies got bowled out for 389 runs.
