WI v ENG 2019: Moeen Ali to miss West Indies T20Is for IPL 2019 stint

England all-rounder Moeen Ali is all set to miss West Indies T20 International series to take rest before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 stint, as he has been rested by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for their final leg of Caribbean tour on Tuesday (26 February).

The England management has announced that Moeen will fly home along with Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler after Saturday’s fifth and final One Day International in St Lucia to rest up ahead of the IPL 2019 with Sam Curran has been called up as a replacement for the spinner.

Moeen, who will miss the upcoming three-match T20I series against West Indies, was retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore​​​​​​​ (RCB) for the upcoming edition of the IPL, while Stokes and Buttler both will turn up for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2019.

Meanwhile, Curran, who will also play for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the IPL 2019, has not played in the ongoing ODI series so far and will return for the final leg of the Caribbean tour with T20I finishing on March 10 while the IPL beginning on March 23.
