WI v ENG 2019 : First Test - Statistical Preview

All the major stats and facts ahead of the first Test between West Indies and England in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Joe Root averages 89.50 in Tests in West Indies

The three Tests series between West Indies and England will begin at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados today.

Given both teams' recent performances and form, England is a firm favorite for this series and they'll be eager to win their first Test series in West Indies since 2004 after completing the whitewash of Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka in last November.

Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes, James Anderson, and Stuart Broad all were in good touch in the warm-up games and will look to carry their momentum into this Test series.

On the other hand, West Indies will look to start from fresh after a disappointing Asia tour (India and Bangladesh) in the last November and the return of captain Jason Holder and Darren Bravo and home conditions will boost their confidence further.
