The Bangladesh government has confirmed a ‘public reception’ for their U19 cricket team for bringing home the World Cup trophy for the first time ever.

Bangladesh U19 won the U19 World Cup in South Africa after beating the defending champions India in the final and achieved their first-ever title victory in the history of ICC events across formats and age groups. It is an extremely proud moment for Bangladesh.

To mark the event, the government has decided to conduct a social gathering to celebrate their win. The date of the reception has not been set yet. But it will be decided when the team returns from South Africa.

The date will be set after the team returns. The reception will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan,” The Daily Star quoted Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader as saying.

The Bangladesh team did not lose a single game in the tournament and kept their nerves in a nail-biting low-scoring final which was also affected the rain. Their passion and dedication impressed everybody and helped them to win the title.

The victory was marred by the wild celebrations by the winning team and it is not new for the Bangladesh side. However, the government has decided to celebrate their cricket and remember the achievement for years to come.
