Women’s T20WC 2020: Healy and Mooney half-centuries help Australia rout Bangladesh by 86 runs

It was a superlative performance by their openers as Beth Mooney (81* in 58 balls with 9 fours) and Alyssa Healy (83 in 53 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes) added a humongous 151 runs for the first wicket. Amy Gardner contributed a 9-ball 22* with 3 fours and 1 six, as Australia registered 189/1 in 20 overs. Salma Khatun was the only wicket-taker for Bangladesh.

In reply, Bangladesh’s top-order fared exactly opposite to their rivals. Megan Schutt picked 3/21 in her four overs, as Bangladeshi batswomen crumbled like nine pins. Only Fargana Hoque (36) fared well, while Shamima Sultana, Nigar Sultana, and Rumana Ahmed made it into double digits.

In the end, Australia managed to keep Bangladesh to just 103/9 and won the match by 86 runs.
