5 fast bowlers who could book their tickets to the T20 World Cup via IPL 2020

The IPL 2020 begins on March 29.

DEEPAK CHAHAR

Deepak Chahar | APDeepak Chahar was in red hot form before being struck down with a back injury. He had a tremendous T20I series against Bangladesh at home where he picked a hat-trick, the first by an Indian bowler in T20Is and also recorded the world record bowling figures in the format of 6/7.

Deepak Chahar aims to be selective about his playing schedule after sustaining stress fracture

A young and strong pacer, Chahar tends to swing the ball at the start and was used exclusively for the same during his maiden stint with Chennai Super Kings by MS Dhoni in 2018. However, Dhoni then tasked him with bowling in death as well in IPL 2019 and Chahar has developed into a complete fast bowler capable of removing the top order, as well as the tailenders with quite an ease.

His performance in the IPL 2020 for CSK will be important given that the selectors will have a keen eye on him, possibly as a good partner for Jasprit Bumrah, who is excellent in death overs, while Chahar takes care at the front with the new ball.
