With the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup less than a year away, many former cricketers have already begun the countdown to predict the probable winner for the event to be held in Australia next October and former England captain Michael Vaughan has also come up with his early prediction on Sunday, November 10.

Taking to Twitter after England outclassed New Zealand by nine runs in a nail-biting super over to win the five-match T20I series 3-2 on Sunday; Vaughan tried to grab the spotlight on social media by predicting the winner for the coveted trophy but became a joke for the Indian fans.

Vaughan, former England captain, and cricket pundit, has made early T20 World Cup predictions, reckoning either England or the hosts Australia would be winning the prestigious title next year. He wrote: “Early T20 World Cup prediction ... England or Australia will be winning it ... #JustSaying,”

While England was the 2010 champions, Australia – who will be hosting this format of the ICC event for the first time ever next year, have never lifted the T20 World Cup trophy and Vaughan feels the two are the potential winners for the next year’s mega event.

Vaughan didn’t pick Virat Kohli-led Indian Team in his list, which did not go down well with the fans on social media as the Twitter users have been trolling the Englishman for not mentioning the powerhouse Men in Blue among his favorites.
